Most women wore better boots than that in the 1970s.
Chasingthesun · 46-50, F
Cute I would wear this today

I have black boots like that. I preferred the hip hugger bell bottoms. Still do!
nedkelly · 61-69, M
That is more a 60's look
sassypants · 36-40, F
The 70's had some great music.
spjennifer · 61-69, T
That look is more late 60's than the 70's or maybe very early 70's, hot pants, miniskirts and white boots were quickly replaced by Disco fashions, oh the horror! Her hairstyle more closely matches the "Flipped Bob" made popular by Jackie Kennedy and others in the 60's.

@spjennifer what?
spjennifer · 61-69, T
@NoGamesTolerated John Tavolta mostly got his start on a 70's TV show called "Welcome Back, Kotter" and he and the other guys in Kotter's remedial class were called "Sweathogs".
NoGamesTolerated · F
@spjennifer oh. Don’t know anything about welcome back kotter.

Go Go boots and mini skirt! Lol my mom use to say “many inches too short”.

helenS · 36-40, F
Some say the 70s were the age of bad taste... 😁
spjennifer · 61-69, T
@helenS As someone who grew up in the 70's, yes there was plenty of bad taste to go around but nothing to compare with the "New Wave" looks of the early 80's, look up "Flock of Seagulls" if you doubt this.
helenS · 36-40, F
@spjennifer Hmmmm... OK I watched a Flock of Seagulls video on youtube.
It's interesting that England, which created excellent bands such as Led Zeppelin or Yes in the Seventies, gave rise to such crap in the eighties. 😐

@helenS Oh my eyes, my eyes will never be the same again, girls wearing a garbage bag with a belt! Totally agree, think the New Wave was supposed to be the polar opposite of good music, or they sure tried hard to make it seem that way, lots of synthesizers and little talent 🙃

The 80's were when I started listening to jazz a lot more.
spjennifer · 61-69, T
@JohnnyNoir And you missed Pet Shop Boys, Duran Duran, Boy George and Wham! Phewwww what a lost decade! Frank Zappa had some great Jazz too!
JohnnyNoir · 56-60, M
@spjennifer I liked some of the new wave I heard but it didn't do the same for me as the previous 2 decades had.
