A colleague bursted into tears this afternoon

Unreasonable workload and deadlines. She is a member of my project team, as well as some more other project teams. She s been working till midnight for months but there are still deadlines that could not be met. Today by noon she was pushed for another deadline.

My draftsman colleague, who helped with my project, is at the same time helping another colleague's project. After having meeting with me and the consultants from 2pm to 8pm yesterday, he worked on my colleague's project overnight for meeting this morning.

I hate this industry and this working environment. There are all sorts of health or emotional problems my colleagues and I are suffering. I m tired and no longer have motivation to work. My draftsman is an elderly close to retirement and he had to work overnight. The colleague who cried today was under too much pressure. Another was sent to hospital for operation last month.

I am just letting interim deadlines slip...just not the ultimate deadline.

It sounds very stressful. I can totally believe it. The pressure cooker environment in our countries is very similar. I took a major decision in 2019 to quit my job and I think that is the best decision I have ever made. I hope you find a comfortable pace of life soon, my friend.

I kinda sounds like life around my office too. Projects, deadlines...not enough time.
