Do you tip when you order take out?

If yes, why?
Sometimes I do because I like to reward good service and sometimes I can tell who is a struggling student. So it is good to give extra.

No. I tip for delivery and for waiter service, but not for take-out.

@Keepitsimple Right.. delivery I tip for or table restaurant service. I never even thought of tipping takeout as they are handing me a bag essentially. But I do commend the poster for maybe that lil extra (dollar/tip) just made their day.

I always do unless they are like 3 hours late and the food is frozen. :) I rarely order food though.

I do not. I am doing the work and not using them for service as I am using them for a good. I am doing all of their work and if the cooks received tips then it maybe a different story.

If I go there a lot and it’s a person I like interacting with... I might throw in a larger bill.

I don’t see the person as being that much different than a bartender.
