When looking 4 jobs.

Location. How easy is it to get there. How much of your time and salary will you spend getting to and from ?
Job description. All employers lie about what the gig actually entails. So need to talk to folk who actually do it !
Hours. Fixed or rolling rota/shifts ?
Can you get there using more than one method of transport ?
Fixed days off or rota dependent ?
Possibility of overtime ? Expectation of shift cover for sickness ?
Salary. Paid how often ?
Average weekly/monthly expenditure. Can you live reasonably on it after tax/insurance ?
Chances of in-house promotion/advancement ?
Can you see a five year plan ? Both in terms of company reliability and your own progression ?

A boss with people management skills is most important to me although it's really hard to know if you're getting that until you start.

Hours, is there weekend work, overtime, shift work. Salary, room for advancement. Will I be dealing with the public? Training provided? Will I be working in a team or alone.
