BitConnect was a financial fraud operation that disguised itself as a virtual wallet service, y'know, one of those things to buy, sell, and distribute cryptocurrency, namely Bitcoin, hence the name BitConnect. In reality it was a Ponzi scheme, but it got widely noticed after a video went viral of a guy calling himself "Carlos from New York" onstage at a BitConnect presenation, singsonging "hey hey hey" over and over and loudly screaming the word "BitConnect" at random in the middle of his speech about why the service was a good investment.
