Have you ever taken a seasonal, holiday job?
I feel that if you need a whole extra job to do holiday shopping, you are spending way too much

i think it's fine to spend your money however you want as long as you're still able to pay for your necessities + potential emergencies. if someone wants to pick up another job for some extra spending money, that's their prerogative, but i wouldn't do it.
