My mom hides chocolates from my father. Recently my father started stashing chocolates too. In a way the whole situation is funny, up until it crosses my mind that my father used to have heightened cholesterol levels a couple of times already.

Would dark chocolate (70 per cent cocoa) make a difference to your father's cholesterol level?

@inquisitive1407: Idk, he's saying that it's no big deal and that he just has these phases. However these phases are over the top sometimes. For example at new years, like every family they get chocolates to put in a bowl on the table. But my dad buys like 3-5 kg of them and eats them all in one night.
@Dan193: That is over the top. I would get sick.

@inquisitive1407: Same.
@Dan193: I would rather eat a whole jar of olives and I hate olives (except on nachos).

@inquisitive1407: I used to hate olives as a child, but I learnt to like them. My parents would say that they are good and that only the royalty would get to eat olives in the past, so each time, even though it disgused me, I'd still try to eat them xP
Now I like them and a lot actually.
Olives are popular with people who are Greek, Italian and Portuguese.

@inquisitive1407: is it because olives grow there? xD
Yes, of course, but I have known people of these origins who have never visited their parent's motherlands. They have acquired these tastes while growing up here in Canada.
