I Believe Life Is Very, Very Weird

Where I live is so hypersensitive that me cracking a joke about how the town shuts down over the least bit of snow rather than ever bothering to prepare for winter actually made people go on the super defense. I literally offended people by talking about the weather. 😂😂😂. I don’t know whether to weep for humanity, or chalk it up to some kind of win on my part for a new level of offending people effortlessly .

This reaction would depend on whether you are a native or an import. A lot of people react negatively when someone moves in and starts bragging about 'my old school.'

@Mamapolo2016 haha that makes sense. Though, they got defensive before that even came up. It was only when they started coming up with all sorts of absurd excuses that I eventually shut the bs down by mentioning that in New England the weather is far more severe, and like still manages to carry-on. 😂
@SW-User My brother I are from Pennsylvania and know how to handle winter. What we did not know was how to handle a blazing Florida summer day when we got stranded in a wetland wilderness. It's all relative, and nobody likes to be told they're a wuss.

@Mamapolo2016 I hear what you’re saying, but businesses, schools shut down.. roads, sidewalks completely left in the lurch.. cars sliding around.. it’s a very ‘let them eat cake’ mentality that the solution is everyone should just ‘stay home’ until the snow melts as if everyone is in a financial position to not work for a week or so. 🙄. I don’t expect people who are not used to snow to know how to drive in it, but it is BS that the town doesn’t prioritize dealing with it, so a little snow, which could be a manageable inconvenience becomes an anual shut down. It’s stupid.
@SW-User When I was a kid, we lived in Baltimore for a bit. It considers itself a southern city anf was not prepared for several feet of snow. The entire city shut down. Cars abandoned where they stuck. Roofs not built to take the weight of snow collapsed. It was madness. They had to borrow snow removal equipment from other places. Madness.

On the other hand, Baltimore has only gotten snows accumulating more than 13 inches 10 times since 1922.

@Mamapolo2016 i’m talking about a shut down over the possibility of less than 3 inches though, then 3 more inches later in the week 😅
@SW-User A bit hysterical, I admit.
