@Samurott1000 All punishments, from a simple time out to an early bedtime - even jail - are a form of abuse by definition where the strong dominate the weak.

The issue is that it is illegal in some communities and since parents want children to follow their rules, they should be coerced to follow society's rules. Unlike theirs, society's rules are all codified in law in an attempt to refute ambiguity. Humans are stronger as a group and thus, choose to dominate those who want to act alone.

@ChloeVSCO Most victims of abuse don't, so it's entirely normal. However, my point is that abuse is everywhere and we should disregard it taking place, instead your parents should be held to society's standards.

In many localities, they commit a crime every time they spank a child. If you're an adult then of course, it's your choice to accept it or not. Depends on where you're from, if it's legal then so be it. If not, do report them to police, unless of course, you agree and consent to the abuse (even if legally you can't consent, silence does the job effectively).
