I Am Confused By Celebrity Worship

This is interesting to think about.
Have you ever asked for a construction worker or farmer to give you their autograph?
Have you ever been eager to take a selfie with a street sweeper for working so hard to keep the streets clean?
Where would we be without construction workers?
Where would we be without harvesters?
Where would we be without sanitary staff that keeps our environments clean for us to avoid sickness and pestilence?
Yet these people make nickels compared to the adults who are phenomenal at playing pretend.
There are entire multi-million dollar industries where boxers and fighters make hundreds of millions of dollars for one fight, with fans worshipping and going crazy for them.
And yet the one who built the T.V., the couch you’re sitting in, your home, and the harvester of the food you are eating are non-existent, are not even admired for their occupations.
Be a doctor, be a lawyer, be an actor, a singer, an artist.
If they keep this up, we will be a land of people dancing and singing in dirty streets without shelter.
Until people celebrate the construction workers, farmers, electricians, on the same level as police officers, fire fighters, doctors, and lawyers.
Until people realize that praising someone for giving an appearance on TV deserves gratitude but not any more than the fire fighter, lawyer, and most definitely construction workers and farmers then we have it all backwards.
Many occupations are the backbone to our society, and yet they are overlooked, for paper, money reasons.
Let’s think, and maybe next time you see a construction worker you will want to get their autograph and take a selfie with them.

[i][c=#BF0000]All the "great civilizations" of the World HAD a life.

Consider them closely. Babylon, Phoenicia, Egypt, Greece, and Rome to name a few.
The all began, grew, peaked with historical greatness, declined and finally "died."
Consider each step, giving little regard to the timeline.

Now, consider Western Civilizations, the USA in particular as it is the "leader" in so much of modern civilization.
The timeline is accelerated due to major events like the Industrial Revolution, and the Technology Revolution and all that has stemmed from them.

But comparing the STAGES, its clear to me that Western Civilizations, the USA in particular are in their own decline. Its a de-escalating spiral toward the eventual ruin that will serve as the foundation for the next "Great Empire."

Hopefully it will be a Civilization focused more on its humanity, ecology and SUSTAINABLE growth than those before it.
A "sign" that that is becoming possible would be a mere 100 years without a war anywhere on this planet.

I agree. It astonishes me how people get "fame " from belly dancing and are admired by others because of their looks , not their talents nor their hard work.

Think how different the world would be if we treated the Nobel prizes like we do the oscars
