Do you think it's a bad idea for two 70ish year old ladies to drive from PA to AZ by themselves?

Fernie · F
I know women that age who would kick ass if someone bothered them. It depends on what kind of 70ish they are

If they are healthy, their car is in good condition, and they have a plan for emergencies, it would be fine.
If they are good drivers with good eyesight.

My mother is mid 80’s and she regularly drives about 2 hours to visit my brother who lives in a remote area. She has a smart phone with her and we can always locate her through that if she breaks down.

No, they may cause a few accidents on the way, but they'll be fine!

@fun4us2b you people are generalizing...70ish is the new 50ish

@Fernie Agreed!!! - Being 59, I have no doubt I will be able to do everything i do now in a short 11 years from now...
Fernie · F
@fun4us2b exactly!
That could be fun. As long as everyone is in good health and the driver is well abled, I don’t see why not.

Setting up a call/notice system with someone they trust would be good.

If they're still capable drivers of sound health then no

They'll be fine. We never actually saw Thelma and Louise die! 👵👵😱

Maybe but at that age they should go for it.
how's their health? and finances? if they have means to just drive till tired and stop for the night in a hotel, and they're in pretty good shape, I think it should be fine.
