I Observe The Remembrance Day

hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
A young Canadian pilot was given his first Spitfire after graduating pilot training. He eagerly climbed into the cockpit and as he was harnessing in he noticed a ladies handkerchief on the floor. He took it as a good luck charm picked it up and put it in his pocket. Every time he went up he would carefully put .the handkerchief in his breast pocket. He flew many missions and was involved in multiple aerial conflicts. The charm held its charm and he always came back to base with out a scratch. He went on from their to teach the Luftwaffe how to fly again in the Saber Jets during the cold war then retired but stayed active in the reserves. At his retirement party he met the lady who lost the handkerchief. She had been a ferry pilot during the war. He gratefully returned it to the rightful owner.
I will remember him..
