I Have Something I Want to Say
Here in America the argument that a lot of people have against environmental protection of all kinds is that it kills jobs and harms the economy.
OK, for the sake of argument let's go with that mindset, that nothing is more important than the economy.
Nothing has changed the workforce like technology. It has not only killed jobs but lessened the skill level for a lot of occupations so that jobs that used to pay a nice wage and benefits are increasingly becoming low paying unskilled jobs. The entire retail industry is rapidly becoming Amazon and Walmart.com. Newspapers are becoming dinosaurs and as they continue to gradually disappear so do the printers and the truck drivers who used to deliver them to the news stands, which will also disappear as people read everything more and more off of their devices.
You can go on and on with this. Yes, technology has also created jobs but nowhere near the variety that can satisfy the diverse skill levels of a population.
SO
To everyone who supports jobs over the environment...
You're going to go out to the store from now on instead of buying online, right? You're going to refuse to buy a new car because robots are decreasing the human workforce of the automotive industry, right? You're going to...
Well you have to be consistent, I would hate to believe you're hypocritical...
