I Was Smacked At Primary School

At primary school most teachers had fought in the second world war and had little patience with children who misbehaved. So any stepping out of line meant a good smacked bottom.
I remember at about aged 10 being sent to the headmaster with my friend by a young teacher who didn't have too much control. We were very nervous by the time we arrived there with good reason it turned out. He told us he was busy and didn't have time to waste on naughty children who wasted their time and other people's.
Then he put us over his knee one by one for a resounding smacked bottom. And boy, could he smack! We went tearfully back to our classroom rubbing two bottoms that seemed to resemble a volcano. Of course, we behaved much better as did the class.
Did we complain to parents? Of course not!

The worst I got in primary school was a wooden ruler on my hands (that was for drawing on the desk). I did not complain to my parents about it.
