I’m so truly very sorry for your tragic loss.
It sounds like you’ve found your enlightenment though

Hoping you have got over your fear of driving, and continue to flourish

I lost my dad when I was 16. I can't imagine losing both at the same time- although I was left stranded in an unfamiliar country with just my mom to rely on.
happylizzy · 26-30, F
Thank you all for your wonderful replies!
☺☮💟 Thank you for sharing your story with us.
YOU KNOW SOMETIMES THE ONLY THING THAT CAN HEAL PAIN OF A TRAGEDY IS JUST THE TIME. IF YOU REALLY CAN'T DO IT FOR NOW DON'T PUSH YOURSELF BUT ALSO ONE DAY YOU HAVE TO FACE THOSE FEARS, AND I HOPE THAT WHEN THAT DAY COMES YOU ARE ALREADY HEALED AND MUCH MORE STRONGER TO FACE IT.
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
That is a tough story, a serious loss. You are strong, and I am so glad you found work you are good at.

Yes, you CAN drive a car, and you need to know how. Find a good driving school and ask for an instructor sensitive to new and nervous drivers.
Sometimes all it takes is the kindness and intervention of one person to turn someone's life around, and I am so glad someone did this for you. Now you are helping others too.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
I don't blame you. Fuck, I'm so sorry *hugs* . No kid your age should ever have to go through that. If you ever need a friend to talk to, I'm here.

With desire and effort, we can overcome our difficulties.

You are wonderful!

Keep on being an inspiration.
happylizzy · 26-30, F
@SW-User wow, thank you.
Great story, and way to go for you to become a teacher. You should be very proud of yourself too!

Wishing you happiness with your career as a swim teacher
happylizzy · 26-30, F
Thank you!
WickedGreat · 56-60, M
Wow, you have a great attitude. What a tragedy. I lost both parents in my mid-20's I can't even imagine having your whole like pulled out from under you like that. You're an impressive young lady.
WickedGreat · 56-60, M
I don't think there's any good time to lose your parents. I wouldn't even dare to say I had it as hard as you. On level ground, being 16 is tough. Let alone losing your parents. I find that overcoming or dealing with this kind of stuff makes you unique.
happylizzy · 26-30, F
@WickedGreat: well thank you, again, But I wouldn't have made it without the help of some dear others.
WickedGreat · 56-60, M
Who took care of you the rest of your teens?
melbeacher · 56-60, M
Congratulations and you sound like you are doing just fine !!
juiceyangel333 · 31-35, F

UniGirl19 · 22-25, F
So sorry about your loss. But glad you're back! 😘😘
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
I am sorry you lost your parents so early. That is a tough loss to deal with.

It is admirable that you are on track now and working at a good job which you like.

What makes you think you will never drive? It will take more time, but there is every chance you will overcome your reluctance to do so eventually if that is what you want to do.
bitofabrat · F
Wow, you're doing great Lizzy, well done!
Oh that is so sad but glad you're comng through it
ronisme1 · 61-69, M

I am feeling sad reading about your family and I am happy for you to get your life back. Did you get back to school?
SolidHeart · 46-50, M
@happylizzy this is great. But you didn't make except a few posts here on SW. Maybe better to get into private chats to practice more.
happylizzy · 26-30, F
@SolidHeart I've done plenty of private chats, still do.
SolidHeart · 46-50, M
@happylizzy can we chat together then?
Oystercult · 41-45, M

greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
I am sorry for your loss but glad you have found a place in the world. I hope you will continue to move forward and eventually get enough schooling to make this a career with a future. Have you considered taking the GED?
firefall · 61-69, M
I think, in the Netherlands, life without a car is quite manageable? (so many american cities, it's almost impossible to live without a car, or at least excessively timeconsuming and expensive).
