I In My Own Words

I've lived like a semi recluse for years. The pain of life had me withdraw from the world and society, as much as possible.

I was world weary. I wanted to hit a pause button and stop time, just to give me a break, but that's a luxury bestowed on no one. So I've been trying to keep myself back from what is "out there" because I didn't like "out there." Somehow "out there" crept into my hermitage anyway, and maybe crept is not the right word, perhaps "punched" with a right hook is more like it.

In recent days, it has come to me that "out there" won't leave you alone in peace, so you just have to go out and face it(how many times, I've lost count) again and again.

I need to make my world larger. No idea where to start, or how I do that when resistance within is so strong, but I'll have to put the thinking cap on, start small and face the f**king BS, wonderful, cr*ppy, beautiful 🌎 I live in because my own world has started to feel too small.

Growth: no matter how old you are, if you don't grow, you wither and die.

One of the things I like about you....your ability to honestly assess where you are in life. Good post:)

@ravenwind43 Thanks, Raven. I'm amazed that even though I'm self aware and think deeply, I can learn new insights, even when I think I don't need to learn anymore. It really is life long.

@Carissimi I am the same way too so I get that:)

This world is ugly, this world is beautiful, it is cruel, it is kind

This world is putrid, and it is refreshing, weary, and enrgizing. What ever people type of spirit peoe put in this world.is what this world absorbs.
I'm.sure you're familiar with the ying and yang balance of things.
There is a compassion and a strength in your person it comes through and clear.
Your's is a presence that repels darkness c. It simple physics.Sitvina dark room and that room is dark, flip switch, light a candle and boom, the darkness flees.
You are a candle C. a beacon to shine in this darkness.
What you're feeling is nothing more than the effect of a struggle as old as time.
It's the struggle between light and dark, good and bad.
If you don't grow, you will die, is true but many others will be effected as well, others yo are meant to influence in some way great or small.

@Carissimi: You are welcome.
I been telling ya the something similar, for a while.
Just bits of encouragement, here and there, reminders of who you are.
May be redundant, albeit truths are empericle eternal, and some times warrants reminding.

We all seem to evolve our way into the future. We live, we learn and we experience. We don't ever actually attain wisdom, we simply survive enough mistakes to recognize them sooner.

In the last chapter of Walden Thoreau wrote
I left the woods for as good a reason as I went there. Perhaps it seemed to me that I had several more lives to live, and could not spare any more time for that one.

maybe it is time to live your other lives.

@jim44444 A thought provoking quote, Jim. I started to read "Walden" last year, but never finished it. Thanks for this. I do agree, as I've found out by my own experience. Hiding out in my own "woods," to find some peace from life, brought home to me that "life" will find you anyway.
