I Support Our Troops

My older brother Passed away doing what he had to in order to make this world a better place. He died on September 8th 2009, he & 2 other troops were pulling out of a convoy & ran over an I.E.D. buried in the road. He was 2 months & 10 days away from turning 21 years old, I'm now 4 years older then he was when he passed away.
I've always wanted to join the military, for as long as I can remember, but unfortunately I am unable to do so, due to having Muscular Dystraophy (M.D.) & another older brother of mine was in the Marines, he now lives in Arizona with his GF.

I am sorry for your loss. Also sorry to hear that you are unable to do what you would proudly do, if you could. M.D. is a terrible thing. It robs you of so much, yet, the friends i have had with it, had one thing left, and that was their sense of humour.

We do. True enough. I have one young friend with M.D. who can't do much else than be on the computer, so she enters contests. Hundreds of contests. She has won so many things I've lost count. But I remeber the big things. One is the van they have now, with the wheelchair lift in the back. A stainless steel freezer in the bottom fridge with water dispenser in the door.
A new livingroom suite. And a two week cruise for four people. Plus uncountable smaller prizes. She has fun with it.

I used to live in a high-rise where the first 6 floors were for people with physical limitations. (Wheelchair accessible apartments)
Many of them were people with M.D. or C.P. and they were really much more fun to know than the hale and hearty lazy ones who chose to live off government handouts and booze. Not that all of them were comedians, but most of them had no self pity. I admired them for just living their lives without expecting or wanting pity. All they wanted was friendship. The ones I knew anyway.
