What has gone wrong at Barcelona?

8-2 defeat to Bayern in the Champions League is staggering. I tbought Bayern would win but teams like Barca NEVER lose by that kind of score.

No long term planning or strategy.

They elect populist Presidents who then throw money around like confetti.

Last night they had three players on the bench who cost them £400m.

And one of those was on their opponents bench !

😄

@RodionRomanovitch I think he would leave us for a better offer but so far no better offer has come. Same as ever but he is moaning a bit more.

His style of play mitigates against the very big clubs giving him a job and so far the Everton and West Ham's have looked the other way. His only other option would be to move sidewise to somebody like Palace but no jobs like that ate on offer either. He could leave us for a big Championship club as a backward steo but he probably wont.

So I think he will end up staying and still do a good job for us because leaving would be worse than staying.

@Burnley123 I think you're right mate. It's in everyone's interest that he stays put.

Unless of course Barcelona come calling ..... 😉

@RodionRomanovitch Dyche is right for us. I wouldn't even take Klopp over him lol.

As far as I can see, Barcelona just don't seem to have a plan for buying their players. They also sack managers on a whim, and as I read in an English newspaper today, they seem to have a "group of ageing players running the dressing room". Personally I don't really care, but I wonder if they will realise that something is badly wrong and do something about it, like rebuild?

@SW-User The German's are ruthless when they want to be!

@Burnley123 did you see the Müller interview after the game ? quote" we had so much fun"

@CynicGirl Fecking hilarious! I've never heard a player say that :D

At least it's only one leg. They've never really replaced Iniesta and Xavi, though that is pretty difficult. They've become more and more reliant on Messi, who looks like he's really not bothered any more.

@RodionRomanovitch No problem, it would have been quite a turn round.
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
@SW-User lol yeah ..... they'd only have needed a 7-0 to go through.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@RodionRomanovitch I think @SW-User is right in that Barca would probably get stuffed in a second leg too.

I thought there was a law that you could not score more than 2 goals in a soccer match. And that was only under very special circumstances. 🤔
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@eli1601 Lol. Yeah this was more like an ice hockey score.

You have to defend VERY badly to concede that many and for one of the biggest teams in Europe to be blown away like that is an epic defeat.

Barca have their best players all becoming past their best....don't like the manager and they need to rebuild....the score was embarrassing ..
SW-User
@Platinum Just another team of disgustingly well-paid individuals who think they can do as they please. They need to start again.

it was historic in so many ways... last time barca lost like that it was ww2
