Should the racing industry be forced to use biofuels?

CountScrofula · 41-45, M
Probably - although the cruise industry is the big issue. One cruise ship puts out emissions equivalent to one million cars.
@CountScrofula 😲😲😲😲

@Awfullybrave Yeah. This shocked the hell out of me. https://www.ft.com/content/8bceef94-86cd-11e9-a028-86cea8523dc2
@CountScrofula I will look it up now 👀

The Indy Racing League also uses ethanol, & I'm pretty sure IMSA does as well.

To the original poster; perhaps a bit of research before posting will lessen the chance of you looking ridiculous.
@bluesmanmark

I don't feel ridiculous at all 😂🤭
Read the question 🤭

Biofuels are used as jet fuel and diesel fuel mostly made from waste. While alcohol is a biofuel made from corn in the US is mandated to be added to gasoline it’s only 15% or less 10% biofuel in most cases because of the harmful effects on car engines. So to answer your question no. For obvious reasons.

F1 uses hybrids now.

incentives if they do use biofuels

That's a great idea - it will help with the development of new technologies

And I am looking ridiculous 😂🤣😂🤣

@Appleton yeah I know.. I really meant if the racing industry should be forced to use it... meaning the ones who doesn't :)

NASCAR has run on E15 ethanol-based biofuel since 2010 tho 🤔 and formula 1 is moving to 'green racing' in 2025
