I was actually ready to boycott the league if they hadn't spoken out against Trump's little race baiting stunt.
And I'm circulating the names of several local restaurants who've chosen to make public the fact that they wont show NFL games because the owners have refused to collaborate with the administration and fire players out of allegiance to Trump.
It won't matter much, I'm sure, because I live in David Duke/Trump country, and i don't call out people who voted for him, but anyone who has publicly endorsed him won't get my business or my trust.
It's NOT just politics as usual. He's different, and while I don't approve of disrespecting the flag, the stuff he does like calling out judges because of their ethnicity,and using his office to foment race based division for own "ratings" is far more disrespectful and unpatriotic.
@RippinKlouds i gave up on the NFL in 1984. one year out of highschool. irsay moves the colts out of baltimore in the middle of the night. watched NFL like a sacrament with my dad till then. we both said fuck it. all $$$. i find it entertaining that like 30 years later people are thinking the league doesn't respect them. doh!
@Greenbare
A lot fewer people are tuning in to watch games than last year. Millions are changing the channel.
and yet everyone is talking about NFL, watching NFL to get pissed off, hammering away at online content, talking about racism, and so on, while people make $$.
Do you somehow think there is probably some other news topics about the US that would probably be of bigger importance regarding laws and politics... and this is being used as a way to distract the masses?
Rather than manifesting a huge importance over sports and whether or not somehow ritualistically demonstrates honor in equal manner as others (why not investigate other current issues that affect the nation as a whole)?
