I Prefer Real Books Over Digital Books

I have a laptop, I have a tablet and a phone and I enjoy using all three. But please, give me a book that I can hold and feel as I flick through it's pages. The wonderful smell of new books fresh off the press, the musky scent of the old with so much history behind, them making me wonder about the kind of people who sat reading them so long before.

There's an online used bookstore (actually more like A group of used bookstores) called Alibtis. Wonderful prices. The shipping usually costs more than the books. Perhaps you are familiar with it?

@Skylarkascending No, I've never heard of it before, but thanks for telling me about it.

I doubt that e-books will ever completely replace printed versions but they will substantially reduce their numbers simply because of cost. Distribution of an e-book (according to Amazon) is less than 50 cents. A printed book cost between $2.00 to $5.00 just in print production cost. The pre-production cost would be similar even though formatting is different. The libraries of the future may look a lot different.

I bought so many books at one time, I physically ran out of space. Gave away... I don't know a few hundred, and now almost out of necessity, tend to use Kindle for many of mine... It's very practical, though not as pleasurable at times :)

@sometimeslonelytoo I do love seeing collections of favourite books stacked on a shelf. I had to thin most of mine out over the years, but some of my cherished childhood books are still here and I shared them with my children when they were small.
Nothing can compare to turning pages. Dog-earing them. Smelling history. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....And newspapers too. I detest reading them online. No character at all.

This is my preference way of reading as well. I always buy hard cover books because I like the feel of them when I hold to read

@Jlhzfromep I like hardcovers best too.
