I Tried Something New
Since I am in an EMT class through my high school, we are required to do a certain amount of ride time on ambulances.
Today I got to ride with an ambulance at a fire station that was pretty close to my house. At first the day started off slow, I just laid back in a recliner and watched TV. After what felt like hours we got a call of a domestic assault. When we got there, a fire engine was waiting on us and was already talking to the victim. Surprisingly we both beat the police to the house.
I carried the bag of medical equipment and made my way into the house. When I walked in I noticed that the victim was an old lady. She was also the grandmother of a girl that goes to my school. That girl and I have never talked, but we have seen each other around at school. I don't know what went through her mind seeing someone from her school being an EMT. Imagine someone from your math class coming after you call 911.
The fact that someone from my school lived there is what made everything much more interesting, and kinda awkward.
