I Don't Like to Make Eye Contact

I can relate. A problem mostly with strangers and distant family or people I've not seen in a while. It'll only get worse though unless we address the "uncomfortable." FYI: I've read in books it's proper to make eye contact during conversation. It's show's you're engaged and have interest in the conversation. Practice makes perfect.

Visit the UK for a bit. I was uncomfortable living there for six months as it is considered rude to make eye contact unless you know the person! I'm from the southern US and we don't meet strangers and would be considered rude to not make eye contact.
