I Hate Getting Ripped Off

I went to get new tires for my car. And I figured why not get a vehicle inspection since it was free.
They tried to tell me my fluids were dirty. And they needed changing. While also that my struts were bad enough that my tires were getting hit.

I hate that I get treated like that because I’m a girl.
Little did they know I’m taking mechanic classes and my fiancé is a mechanic as well. We had both checked the fluids a week ago. And I changed out the ones needed to get done. Plus I know what wear to look for on tires. And none of them showed indication of getting hit.

If you’re a mechanic, I hope you don’t try to rip girls off because “they don’t know better”. It’s just bad service.

I'm a guy, and that's happened to me as well. I was getting a state inspection years ago, and the guy at the shop tried to convince me that something called an upper control arm needed to be replaced. I just said thanks but no thanks.

I remember my dad who’s worked on cars his whole life and built some from the ground up. Was told by some shop that there was a misfire in the fifth cylinder. He took it to out trusted mechanic and was told nothing was wrong with it. @RedBaron
