humans are not civilized

Humans have been so called "civilized" for how many thousands of years and they still can't provide the most basic needs for everyone:
Clean water, healthy food, peaceful shelter, healthy environment, purpose and a trusted circle of family and friends.
I don't think humans are civilized at all. As the area I grew up in gets worse every single year and day even, they seem pretty barbaric to me.
