I Do Not Believe In Getting Revenge

I believe that revenge solves nothing after the manchester attack there was a lot of hate in britain and I was working a regular customer an elderly gentleman came up to me with a newspaper and made a remark about sad it all was and he said "it kind of makes you want some sort of revenge" and my response to that was "how would that solve anything?" He looked a bit taken a back I went onto say that hate just breeds more hate and until we break this cycle it won't stop that if we make villians out of muslims the younger ones will just see it as if thats how they see then why should we act any different. He said that was a better way of looking at the whole situation and was quite stunned that it made him re think his previous comment and view, he then said something that has stuck with me since "its quite a mature view and I'm happy it came from someone young gives me hope that you won't make the same mistakes my generation have" he said goodbye and went on his way. I feel happy that I said what I did and got that response from an elder of my communitiy made me feel like I was looking at things the right way.
