We don't 'click' with everyone..

How impossible that would be.
Sometimes we just get someone, and they us.
We're on the same page, mostly understand each other,
our personalities mesh well.
We click.

Other times personalities clash, we're out of sync, we struggle to understand each other.
Or we sense more the underlying versus the complimenting surface.
Instead of trying to force it, or making out like they are to blame or jealous, or blah...
Why does it have to be someone's fault? Wouldn't it be better to have the discernment and grace to accept we just don't jive.

Or do we need to be liked by everyone or think we can like everyone? Surely not. Compassion and common decency, yes. But..

"An unhealthy desire to be liked by everyone is indicative of struggles with low self-esteem and a lack of self-confidence. The prevalence of social media in today’s society only exacerbates these struggles. People on social media literally compete for likes, thus increasing the potential for inappropriate or damaging behavior by those for whom being liked is an unhealthy need. Not achieving what they perceive to be the right amount of approval — especially through social media — can also lead to worsening psychological issues like depression or even suicidal thoughts."
[sep]

P.S. But a healthy relationship or click, can still have disagreement. Agreeing with everything isn't the same as clicking.

It would be sooo much better if people let the understanding that not everyone is engineered to like one another prevail over thinking that someone not meshing with them is some kind of personal attack on their ego and their overall existence. It’s become too much of a “If you don’t like me, there’s clearly something wrong with you” world and man, do the weak ones hold onto that resentment and use it in any way they can to paint you in a bad light to others. It’s like they want you to feel their pain of not being liked so it somehow takes away the sting of their’s. It’s adolescent and I feel that social media has not only given a very easy platform for that behavior to come forth, but has also tipped the narcissism and definitely the entitlement scales.

Great post and very wise words.

What we were discussing the other day ...
Magenta · F
[@1250,AllAboutLaffs] You mean about the 'self or creative expression'? Mmhm sort of along the same lines.
AllAboutLaffs · 70-79, M
[@1173,Magenta] Yes ... and the impact of SM
Magenta · F
[@1250,AllAboutLaffs] Ah yes, it was a great convo. 😊

Very interesting post and I completely agree. I mean sometimes you just don't get along with someone because their personality doesn't match yours.

I'm the last person that needs everyone on social media to like them. In fact, I'm okay with a hand full of friends and acquaintances. I don't need validation on social media sites, if you don't like me .... who gives a shit. 🤭
Magenta · F
[@795132,Synyster] Indeed. Thank you.
It was meant to be just a few thoughts but it kind of grew, haha. ;-)

You have gumption. 💟

Well said, Ms. M. I share your perspective on this.

Good quote about one of the hazards of social media, of which there are many.
Magenta · F
[@121363,Rutterman] Thank you, my treasured friend. 💟
It is, there are many truths out there about the effects of.
ChampagneOnIce · 46-50, F
It’s wonderful when you find that click. It’s rare for me, and I’m ok with that. I don’t need to be liked by everyone, just by those who are important to me.

So true about the downside of social media.
ChampagneOnIce · 46-50, F
[@1173,Magenta] It is, and it’s fine if there’s no click. I think we both prefer small but meaningful circles. 💖
Magenta · F
[@327203,ChampagneOnIce] Indeed, and even a healthy relationship will have misunderstanding at times. Always agreeing with someone isn't really the same as clicking I don't think.
ChampagneOnIce · 46-50, F
[@1173,Magenta] No, definitely not. I agree. You’ll have disagreements, but hopefully, you can find a way through it and remain friends or romantic partners. That click or spark doesn’t just go away, even if you disagree on some things.
So true and well stated 😊. We are all entitled to our own individuality .

Mhm imposible to click with everyone.. Or be liked by everyone...
That's why it's better to enjoy one owns companion, cause that's the only one that's assured to be with us every day in this life.
Magenta · F
[@536386,Gaiia] I knew you would get this and relate. 😘

P.S. I enjoy my own company too.
Gaiia · F
[@1173,Magenta] mhm seems like the only real thing that we are totally certain about in this life. Ourselves, even if our bodies or mind become weak and age, it's what will be with us till the end.
Magenta · F
[@536386,Gaiia] *sigh* yes indeed.

I almost agree with everything you have said..

There must be a reason for each and everyone of us going to social sites and interact with many whom we might not even meet ... We do that, yet we need to understand that it might cause us disappointment in so many ways and that it can work in opposite way if we take it too seriously...

We should not give a lot of value to everything that happens or is said on social sites ...

We should not waste our time and energy on something called social webside misunderstanding...

All we need is true love and friendship by a few..

Have a nice day beautiful Magenta...
Magenta · F
[@1067,Soossie] Yes, you are right. Well said. Especially this:
We should not give a lot of value to everything that happens or is said in here
Sometimes I let it get to me. Real life is what is important, I know.

This was just thoughts I needed to express, not about something specific.

I appreciate you and what you have said. Thank you much.
Hope your day is a good one.
🤗💕
It should be possible to give your post more than one heart. Because it's the best thing I've read here in a long time. (Y)

[@7972,RobinPhoenix] Thank you truly. Glad you enjoyed.

All that is true, but sometimes that unhealthy need for approval isn't just causes by social media,
I believe this need can grow from how someone was raised or how hard was it to be approved in anything amon his/her family members
Magenta · F
[@325984,KBeeDa] Ah yes, good point. Our nurturing or lack of, as a child, indeed plays a part in our internal dialogue and feelings of self worth.

Good thing is, we tend to outgrow all that as we get older and come into our own.

Thank you.
KBeeDa · 22-25, M
[@1173,Magenta] yes that's right, i really hope that everyone who's dealing with this does outgrow it eventually
Magenta · F
[@325984,KBeeDa] Yes, it's good to evolve and grow. 💟

All the more reason to cherish the "click" you have with someone. They are truly rare .
