I want to share something. what are your thoughts on this post?

There's a quote I think is worth sharing:

"There are three things in life that leave and never return: words, time and opportunities "

I wanted to share this because having anxiety has made it difficult for me to do these things. There are times when I couldn't find the words for the important things in life. I've also lost so many opportunities through fear and worry, and ultimately I've lost my time through never taking them...

Over the last 2 years through pushing myself to take risks and consider these three things in my daily life... I can say my anxiety has got a lot better and I'm definitely enjoying life a lot more. I know I've still got some way to go but just considering these three things really helps you to focus on what's important.

So it's just a reminder to myself and anyone who has anxiety or maybe turns down a lot through fear, that It's easy to take these three things for granted, they should be valued and used wisely... and it does make a big improvement.

I also want to share this with some people close to me, do you think it's alright?

I feel this all of the time. However, what is wasting time?

If the things that I am doing with my time allow me to enjoy my life, are they a waste? If I'm happy doing what I am doing, does conventional "success" need to be a factor in my life?

Mostly things just happen and I feel like with the internet the millennials are being pressured into being something in a way that no other generation has ever been. There's a lot of emphasis on college from the baby boomer generation and we're in a bit of an economic upset because people simply just don't retire or DIE anymore.

I feel like even for millenials who don't have an anxiety disorder, this is a very confusing and stressful time.

We forget so easily that life used to be disgustingly simple. Thinking back to pre 1995, or pre 2000 even... what the fuck was there to do? Nothing, really, and we never really worried about it because we didn't have a constant societal measure shoved in our face every day. Facebook, twitter, the 24 hour news cycle... all of these things are gigantic stressors.

If jerking off, drinking beer and smoking weed makes you happy, go for it. If you want to sleep all day, fucking do it. The only time wasted in your life is the time when you are miserable. At this juncture in history, with all of twitter being archived in the library of congress, people cannot be forgotten in the conventional way. Our generation and future generations will simply not have had a voice; we will be so many, so vastly populated that while we may last forever through our online interactions, we will do so through obscurity due to the sheer volume of contribution.

So determine what success means to you. Is it wealth? Knowledge? Happiness? Don't let someone else tell you what it is to have a meaningful life. Other people can't know. Only you can know what you really want, and if you are honest with yourself, it becomes much easier to attain that kind of peace.

@Trinitythree030303: no I'm not saying those things are a waste, if you're enjoying your time then good on you :)
