Did you grow up in a tactile, loving childhood?

I didn't, I had to teach myself to hug people in my late 20's it just wasn't done in my family.

Yes, I was lucky to have a loving grandmother who practically raised me and she always gave me awesome cuddles.

@MightyAphrodite: My gran just lived round the corner, the only nice memories of my childhood were anytime I could spend with her, I will always call her my parent, lots of love to your grandparents too

@ajoite: Thank you so much! and thanks for best answer, usually I'd send you a gift but at the moment I've only 28 coins, so I can't do that. We are lucky to have had loving grandparents, there are people who had no love at all.

Yes I did and it was and is a great blessing.
Is it possible really to learn that later?

@ajoite: You still enjoy hugging people?

I suppose I'm similar. I wouldn't say my childhood was in any way bad or depriving. But my parents had certain stereotypes of how people should be that they enforced and we were carted off to Sunday school from early on into my teenage years too that reinforced some of that.

But I do now hugger people - I think I'm a bit of a hugger - family, close friends etc. I'll often go in for the hug.

Tactics were always taken very seriously in my home cleaning and maintaining tools for defense were of the up most of importants.
No. Displays of affection private or otherwise aren't a "thing" in the culture my parents grew up in.
