If you replace the name God

are you really this religious or just curious?

They are not interchangeable. The concept of a monotheistic God originated with the Bible. That book ascribes certain traits and rules to God.

The Bible does not refer to an amorphous or nondescript source. But one clearly exists. There is no dogma attached to the word source.

People claim to know that God exists in very specific detail. Yet the Bible could be as authentic and accurate as Norse mythology. The adherents to the Bible do so based on blind faith. Substituting the source for Giod seems more rational. There is a source. We just don't know for a scientific fact what it is. The God of the Old Testament is a myth. A very vain, vindictive, judgmental myth whom I have no interest in associating with. The source seems more benign and accurate.

God is the English 'word' to name the entity we refer to as God.

As any parent will say to their kids, "I don't care what you call me, just call me!"
