Given that doctors may be subject to serious professional sanctions for inappropriate contact with patients, it's much more respectful and friendly to act, well, respectful and friendly.

@Mamapolo2016 The same is true for me as a professor. I cringe at the (rare) times a student has tried to come on to me.
