I'll bet you they still claim an allowance from the government, you being registered as one of their patients every year !

Call them back and say that's unacceptable.

If they give you any static tell them that should your problem deteriorate and require emergency room treatment, you'll be sure to let them know the reason you had no choice but to visit the emergency room was because this person refused to book you an appointment at a time when a preventative consult might have avoided the whole issue.

[@448576,Picklebobble2] My mom actually called them to see if she could get me in and was told the same thing. She pretty much told them to go pound sand.

[@579836,shallowwater] Then cut out the middle man and go straight to the emergency room.

Doctors surgeries like to create all kinds of in house rules but if you're a registered patient at that surgery they have no legal grounds to reject your request unless you're somebody who abuses their appointments system.

That means you're staying away from the doctor? Tell them, but they are doing it right! Less care for you, more freedom from care for the corporatocracy.

[@1201621,MotherHubbard] I only go if I dont have any other option

[@579836,shallowwater] you have freedom of choice instead of actual freedom to go. So you're at least aligned politically with your own oppression.
Should have been going in for your annual checkups at least.
