Why is my family being hard on me about my grades?

I can’t wait to leave high school so my dad can stop bugging me about my grades. When I got my report card, I got Cs and a three Ds. I was too afraid to tell because I know how my family is. Their strict about grades. My dad wasn’t happy about my grades and set me up with a tutor. He called me out for not working hard enough. Well I had a tutor all year but she quit because I have her a hard time and I was lazy about my studies and don’t care and now I got this mean tutor that scolds me off about my laziness and she’s tougher than my last tutor.
My dad and his girlfriend gave me a hard talk about my grades. His girlfriend called me out for my laziness and she said I must not want to graduate from high school and my family is looking forward to see me graduate but they’re going to be so disappointed if I don’t get my diploma. She said sternly that I better find way to help me pass and if I don’t, I’ll have to repeat senior year and I’m going to just waste time being careless about my grades and I don’t give a crap about my grades and I’m just lazy and wasting everyone’s time! Just saying.
She really shut me up when she called me out. She don’t talks BS from anyone. My dad said she was a little too harsh but as the same time she is right and I better listen to her. She is speaking facts. I’m supposed to be graduating next week and I have senior finals.

If you have senior finals, then I highly suggest you get out of lazy mode, and do the work that is required in order to graduate. I want to say I was the same way in 11th grade, but that's not entirely true. I almost ended up having to go through 11th grade all over again, because I wasn't able to pass one of those end of year tests, and this one was on government.

I had to attend summer school, and I had a tutor like teacher helping me, but only during the class. The class was also smaller than a normal class, so it was easier to focus on my work. I missed three questions during the test, but I passed. And when I became a senior, I entered into the work study program so that I only had 3 classes a day, Guitar class (I needed to take an elective for the missing couple of credits I needed to graduate) English class, and Marketing 2. And because I only had 3 classes a day, I was doing so good in English that I ended up on the principles honor roll list, and I've got multiple achievements from high school as well. My GPA was a 3.5 when I graduated.

I put in the work because I knew what was coming if I didn't graduate (dad) and I also hated every bit of school. That's why I put in the extra work, because once it was done and over with, then I had nothing to worry about.

So come on, put in the work that is required to graduate and stop procrastinating. Because in the end if you don't graduate, you're going to have to do it all over again, and you really don't want to have to go through it all over again. I know I sure didn't want to.
