Why are kids smoking at an earlier age these days?

My grandma started smoking when she was 12. Her older sister (teen in the 50’s) told me if you didn’t smoke, you weren’t cool back in the day. I don’t think it’s a new thing tbh it seems rather old.

I think every generation says that. I smoked when I was like 15-16
