Do you get along with people who don't share any of your political or social views?

I can but it is imperative they don't bring them up. Several people in my life are trump supporters and they know that bringing it up will cause me immense distress. I don't bring it up either. We politely leave it alone.

So when people like my dad who know me extremely well do things like randomly remind me of their affiliations I know it is out of cruelty.

I do not base friendships on political views but it seems to work out that people of a completely different political view have nothing else in common with me and friendships are not established.

I'll get along with them as neighbours, in the workplace, or at community meetings.
But I won't accept them as friends or close personal associates.

I don't tend to talk politics with people if I can help it.

I have gotten less tolerant of them because of constant negative experiences with them.

I do not care about politics or anyone's political views. Politics is basically something for pseudo-intellectuals to talk about and feel like they are not as dumb as they really are.

One of my best friends has near opposite political views.
I just avoid politics with him and we otherwise get along fine.
