I don't treat people differently because they're attractive.

I notice people fawn over very attractive people, offer help and shower them with compliments. People often say that I am jealous for not giving them much attention but I would say that I believe in treating people fairly.

Yyeah, I know I have that kinda toxic "treat attractive people as superior" bias, but I try my best to judge everyone by their actions and stuff and I think I do a pretty OK job. I don't believe in the concept of giving insincere compliments just to make people feel better, but engaging with folks as people is the least I can do. 🤷‍♂️

Same. I've been an ugly duckling my whole life, so I learned the hard way that there's way more to a person than looks. Nobody's special just because they won the genetic lottery. They get the same amount of respect as the next person. If they want more, they can earn it

Another perspective: people assume just because someone is attractive that they must be dumb.
JBird · F
@assemblingaknob well, I didn't grew up with that assumption
LAlexV · M
@assemblingaknob Science says the opposite. We view them as more
competent.

@LAlexV stereotypes don't follow logic.

I don't know, I think to some level we all at least subconsciously treat attractive and charismatic people better in general, we're just programmed to like good looking people.

Or they could be dropping compliments cause they think a person is ugly and feel sorry for them.
Thats why I like coming here cause you guys are so nice when I need that boost😢❤

The whole attractiveness thing is quite silly. Everyone's like "Oh being hot shit doesn't change a thing". Well yeah that's easy to say when you're hot shit lol
