Does it annoy you when people assume that you have to be mixed based on not fitting the stereotype?
People seem to think that i take it as a compliment when they tell me I look part so and so.

didn't get along very well with my sisters ex's family, a few started some gossip telling everyone that I looked like a serial killer.
What did I do? I started driving by their houses real slowly late at night at random (I'd honk horn to make sure they saw me...)
Had some great gut wrenching laughs with a few police buddies of mine when they showed up a few weeks later to tell me that many of them took out restraining orders against me... 🤣

None ever guesses where I’m from, my race or anything about me. They assume everything and idc. I’m busy living ma life while they are thinkin for me.

I hate when people say I look good for an American woman and compliment me by saying I look Colombian. That doesn't flatter me at all.

They say it to my sister as well.
I don’t see it as negative or positive. But typically they are saying you look like xyz because they find your features attractive

@Mrsbetweenfatandfit I just wish people can see that just because you look one way from a ethnicity that you can still be attractive and not mixed. To me in a sense it feels that I am not attractive other wise because I don't fit that mold. I hope that makes sense. haha :)

@JaneCas I understand how it could be taken negatively. My best friend has gotten a “compliment” which I think is just freaking rude. They’ll tell her ( random strangers) how she’s so pretty [i]for [/i] a dark skinned girl
