We have two goals right now as society: save lives and keep our economies from going under

Do you think both of these can be achieved?

If so how?

Trying to save an already failed global economy is what's causing all the problems. After the Great Depression a temporary solution they call recession was implemented to remedy the collapse, but as a band-aid remedy, it had to fall off eventually. That started in the 1980s. Only wars and the threat of wars forces industry to keep any kind of economy going. Otherwise industry could not afford the lifestyles of the workers. Ultimately it will fail and the world will be reduced once again to a state of barter. Only those with usable needed goods for trade or those that have needed skills to barter will have a means to live. Those who depended upon the interest gained by the investing of other people's money and others who work behind desks for their living will have to earn trades or starve.
In short things will all get better if we allowed the economy to collapse. none of us would live in much luxury, but we would be living a more stable life, a healthier life and a happier life. I was raised by two Great Depression survivors and got first hand accounts of it.

In the UK the Chancellor has issued one budget and then trashed it a week later as the extent of the virus effects is becoming clearer.
So as much as people may think the economy is what should be kept in mind the extent of borrowing has already gone through the roof and we still haven't hit the virus' full effect yet.

Not if we have to shit down businesses, even temporarily, because they lose money in a week, and the money been given out to every business is not enough to keep up float, US is giving out a total trillions and Australia billions, to both big and small businesses, without running out nationally ?
