How would you tell a sibling to stop obsessing over various syndromes and stuff?

So I have this sibling who's a bit odd. She's part of loads of groups she doesn't need to be part of like this week she has restless leg syndrome when she doesn't so she's sat here pretending to have it when she doesn't and tests have proven this.

How would you stop someone obsessing over having various illnesses, fears, syndromes/ diseases and stuff. It's like she wants to be sick or seen as special or something. Not quite sure what to do 🤷

Sounds like she might actually have Munchausen's, lol

@Quizzical nah we did the drill and got her tested they came back negative. She has something new every week 🤷

You get them to join a hypocondriac group.

@kayoshin AHH she's always been like it way before she was expecting. I am concerned that she is taking meds she not needing as I found a bunch of tablets and stuff she definitely hasn't been prescribed. It's all from a health food store too

Don't worry about those from a health food store, those will only do wrong on her wallet. So she might get scammed but they don't really sell poisonous stuff or meds that need strict regulations. She does need to see someone about the hypocondriac mindset though, it's dangerous in the long run and it can get really dangerous if she starts projecting on her kids and starts giving them useless meds and crazy diets for no reason.

@kayoshin yeah definitely, she's already having baby tested for everything 🤷

Near death experience and you can be like "See, what do you have to worry about now".

@Elegy although your name having angels in it has got me a little nervous 😮

@Elegy 😮 now I'm curious 🤔 drop a message if you like

Yeah, my brother is this way. They just want to be special or something.
Silentangel · 26-30, F
@XReaganX no idea by though 🤔. Shes spent the past half hour twitching her legs herself. And does it every time we're all in the room and stuff. The doctor knows she doesn't have it and has told her but she's over acting the symptoms. 🤷 Maybe she need more than a specialist

Nothing you can do. Sounds like she needs professional help.
Silentangel · 26-30, F
@LyricalOne yeah she spends a lot of time on groups and stuff it's weird. I've told the folks but nothing 🤷
