Because the other search engines bite. Microsoft excel via Bing only gives you 2/3 of a screen. You can't stream video or movies and you can't see half of what you are trying to do when you are typing. The things they use as tabs are a joke.

DuckSuckGo is terrible. I tried it. It doesn't have any of the features I want. I tried it for two days and I tried Bing for the same amount of time because I was going to boycott Google. If Bing ever fixes their lame screen I will use them.

I use it because it is one of the few actual search engines, and it was the first good one. Not just a directory look up like some others used to be.

When the internet started i used to use a range of search engines. Now i seem to use google all the time. I'm not even sure why.

It was better than the competition at the time, and we just never stopped using it after the old competition folded.
