I want to get a Hyundai Kona all electric . Now that they have cracked the 300mile range on a single charge and the fast charge gives you up to 80% in about thirty minutes it's a no brainer

[@7721,monkeysdevil007] aww yeah that's cool :)

[@774925,iamkaira] Thanks for the BA .It's amazing how misinformed the majority of people are regarding fully electric cars as most of the newer generation ones are capable of 240 miles plus on a charge and in Europe at least the average daily commute is 30 miles or less so you could go for a week without charging. They are also much cheaper to maintain as they have fewer parts to worry about . Yes they cost more to buy initially but the running costs are way lower all bar insurance which is higher but not significantly so.
I understand missing the sound of a growling V8 or V6 but one day we will run out of a means to fuel those cars so now is the time to start embracing the future

[@7721,monkeysdevil007] yeah :)
Rutterman41-45, M
Probably not. They tend to be pretty expensive.
iamkaira22-25, F
[@121363,Rutterman] well yeah compared to gasoline/petrol alternatives they certainly are as of now ^^
Rutterman41-45, M
[@774925,iamkaira] If the prices become more competitive, I'll reconsider.

It's gonna be a Diesel Ford f-350. Get a nice truck and piss off the global warming alarmists at the same time, win/win.
iamkaira22-25, F
[@11034,RebelWolf] lol well why not go for rivian which offers a much more powerful truck than the f-350?

RebelWolf31-35, M
[@774925,iamkaira] Because that doesn't upset the global warming alarmists. Not to mention, there are no "electric" fuel stations any where around me. Completely impractical.

Why would the USA abandon Petrol when we are dominating the "black gold" industry? Cause global warming? Give me a break.
Definitely not. They aren't ready yet, ultimately some day we all will have to but now I enjoy my freedom and the sound of money exploding from some cars is to much to give up 馃槍
iamkaira22-25, F
[@527461,Teggy] 馃槄 fair enough
Classified31-35, M
Probably not. Formula 1 > Formula E. 馃槤
Classified31-35, M
[@774925,iamkaira] Maybe. That sounds better than an purely electric car. 馃構
iamkaira22-25, F
[@444927,Classified] and why's that? is it the lack of sound?
Classified31-35, M
[@774925,iamkaira] Charging goes slow and you can't get too far on a full battery. 馃檪
Wolf9031-35, M
Perhaps but I suspect it will be some way in the future before they are viable replacements. But I hope they become viable.... the positives are considerable
MasterLee51-55, M
No. I do not want a golf cart
iamkaira22-25, F
[@9463,MasterLee] electric cars have come a far way since being golf carts you know - some of them have speeds which aren't considered street legal or in the range of supercars/hypercars 馃槄
MasterLee51-55, M
[@774925,iamkaira] do not care. I need range speed and comfort. Also want to pay a regular mechanic not some overpriced dealer when it breaks.
iamkaira22-25, F
[@9463,MasterLee] okay :)
Jakey7556-60, M
No. They dont have the range and they take a long time to recharge. Also too expensive.
iamkaira22-25, F
[@402047,Jakey75] most new cars give you a range of 150 miles or close about 250kms if you charge them fully - and they come with fast chargers that get you fully charged up in 2 hours ^^
Jakey7556-60, M
That's a step in the right direction but I want a 300-400 range and I want to be able to conveniently recharge in 15 minutes or less. We are not there yet with electric cars in my opinion.
iamkaira22-25, F
[@402047,Jakey75] true yeah ^^
popmol18-21, M
they look a little silly :p
iamkaira22-25, F
[@16938,popmol] not the ones that are coming out now, in fact a lot of them are renewed versions of gasoline/petrol or diesel variants :)
popmol18-21, M
[@774925,iamkaira] cool :)
bhatjc41-45, M
No. Those cars still don't have the range.
iamkaira22-25, F
[@6763,bhatjc] fair enough :)
bhatjc41-45, M
[@774925,iamkaira] Like driving the grand trunk. I don't think those cars would make it
