Why is posting screenshots against the rules?

Isnt it better than just word of say, or if the person removed the original evidence as a solid form of proof?

I don't have a definitive answer, but I would say that naming members and/or posting screenshots many times adds fuel to the fire and causes more drama than it is worth. The developers have the reporting system for a reason. When you click the button to report inappropriate behavior the system tracks the report and reason. Even though you may not hear back from them immediately that data is still there and a history is being built. This way if the person is genuinely a troll or committing illegal acts then it is tracked and they have the data saved if law enforcement has to be involved or to document their reason for banning them from the site. None of that happens when you post your screenshots or make a post about another user. It just incites gang mentality many times and causes a negative situation as the feeds fill up with people weighing in from both sides. Maybe a SW Admin will weigh in and agree or disagree on my synopsis. My comment is based on the fact that I work in the technologies field and I have been an admin on many sites over the years.

@wakanda4eva oh just report that. They are saved in the metadata anyway. You don't need screenshots. When you click the report it is linked anyway. And they can restore the deleted data. Nothing ever truly goes away on the www. It is just archived. ;)
@Fungirlmmm I'm coming back here from Google plus and I totally agree with everything you posted. It was the wild west there and anything would get posted there. I myself owned and moderated communities of half a million users. The security features here preventing the ease of screenshoting is nice. The trolling though is just a matter of time away. People will just use VPNs to side step the security here and use multiple accounts to flood the place with bots.

@jetpack There is new technology to unmask the proxies now. I saw it at a technologies presentation for my company and it was surprisingly accurate in comparison to the older stuff.

This is against the rules because the admins have claimed in the rules that this shouldn’t be happening, and it just causes more drama that isn’t needed, and also @Fungirlmmm could be correct also.

@wakanda4eva please report it
wakanda4eva · 26-30, F
@Jessa29 but it says before u report something to "Please only submit a report in cases of actual abusive, spam, suicide or illegal activity.
If a user is simply arguing with or insulting you, then please Block that user instead.
If you submit false reports, your account may be penalized and limited for misleading accusations."

So are you trying to make me limit my account more on reporting something is not deemed reportable? Because all my reports have came back as invalid, and should be at that because I did the mistake of reporting it in the first place when I wanted to do was to bring attention to it through screenshots.

What do you mean "drama not needed" ? What is perceived as drama not needed to you.

@Jessa29 I was posting screenshots of PUBLIC sw convo, in the rules it specify only PRIVATE sw dms cant be posted.

I don't know, but I feel like if someone is being a serious threat to one user, they could be a threat to others. Warning others would lead to more reports and then quick resolution. I believe the priority is assigned based on how many people repot a post, more reports means quicker riddance of the offender.

@SW-User in this case it would be appropriate to report then seek out a mod like myself.

Will keep in mind. Thanks. @Jessa29

@SW-User you’re welcome

I don't know really. People always try to say it's against the rules to call out other users negatively, but SW doesn't care unless it gets reported a lot.

@wakanda4eva You have a good enough idea how the system works fishy. I think you can see why you got the warnings on your profile, and why the people who started all this got off scot-free. Is it right? No, but you should learn to handle injustices better. It's all wrong, but your actions made it worse. Not because you were doing bad things, but because people don't always know how to do the right things with the reporting system. Mob mentality wins, and that's awful, but fighting it and letting it bring you down like this won't help anything. Okay? Try to let this go if you can, you'll be better off.

@Reject I get ur trying to let me be peace at it, but I just really find it ridiculous how it all ended up with my account facing so many limitations, theres something shady going on.
wakanda4eva · 26-30, F
@Reject and I have posted screenshots in posts too before that were never removed.
Prettybrat · 26-30, F
Break the rules if you have to
wakanda4eva · 26-30, F
@Prettybrat not if they break me first
