Anyone else have food allergy?

It's so restricting and socially limiting if that makes sense. People think 'youre just trying to be skinny" or 'you dont want to eat' or that you have an eating disorder etc. I shouldn't have to tell people that I have a food allergy. I hate it. I hate dealing with it. I wish I had help with it all, or not to deal with it. I wish there were more options in stores.

I hate how people act insensitive towards other without knowing what they're going through.

i have a peanut allergy but it's usually easy for me to avoid, thankfully

I'm allergic to popcorn, but corn on the cob is perfectly fine. Not easy going to movies.

I am intensively sensitive (allergic?) to most dairy. I can eat 1-2 Tablespoons of butter, but for nothing else dairy. I can only eat at Japanese or Chinese restaurants and feel confident that nothing on the menu will torture me later. It's just like being poisoned...except you don't die. You just think you're going to die.

Lemongrass over here. Even a tiny amount in something and my mouth will immediately go numb from it.

yes, I have dangerous allergies to fish and tree nuts and it is limiting. I can't eat anything I don't know for sure what's in it, I can't have anything that's been in the same fryer as fish, I can't eat most nice chocolates. A lot of places don't clean their grill well enough.

Death by chocolate, literally.

@SW-User darn. Do you ever feel annoyed at work parties/potlucks and stuff when you cant have things? Docs said I have traces of celiac years ago. Im having more issues now so i want to be retested and see a nutritionists. Probably why i feel sick and tired all the time

@iamnikki People eat a lot of seafood where I live, too, and so it does tend to turn up at parties and the like. It can end up making other things inedible, too, if someone's not careful about keeping things like utensils strictly separate. Usually it's best to just stick to chips.

Yes, Celiac - I can't eat wheat, barley or rye - it's a pain but I plan ahead, even eat before I go to a party or dinner so I don't have to deal with it and can spend my time socializing....
