My brother is stupid for passing out sandwiches to homeless people

My idiot brother has gotten all involved in church thanks to his idiot wife and has started passing out sandwiches with another guy from his church out in the hood. You drive a damn nice car, dress nicely and at any second those stupid junkies and thieves could kill you and take your stuff to sell it for crack. Our mother as well as myself have both yelled at him over this but he doesn't listen. Don't you think for one second those people are your friends they'd punch you in the face and steal your car to sell in a heartbeat you idiot.

Not all homeless people are drug users and thieves. There are people out there who just aren't as lucky as you or me and don't have caring people around them to turn to on hard times.

I would guess your brother is not an idiot, you just have different personality types. The different types don't see the world the same way at all, what is real and obvious to one type will not be to another. For example, you see the danger and don't understand why he can't, he probably does see the danger but is driven by a principle of helping your fellow man. For him, not following this principle would be dumber than putting himself in danger, especially if he has faith that God is looking over him and will reward him for good deeds
