@abe182 Incest is not common here, It is because of the social, cultural and familial structure don't give favorable ground for such thing. Incest happens, I've known such cases, but all were rape cases, almost always guy is forcing himself on the girl. But cousin marriage is common among Muslims. I had a friend at work, whose parents are actually cousins and they were perfectly fine with that. -_- Though it has decreased a lot.
I think the biggest problem is this unending waves of sexual violence. Now, that does happen here.

@SW-User I wouldn't say its non-existent in Hindus.. I mean I have known people who are Hindus to have had incest as well - Incest isn't only about marrying someone within the family btw

@SW-User People if saying they had incestuous stuff, they are bluffing. Those who really do that, don't share it to others. It is a common sense. This wont happen in the most liberal countries too, certainly not in India which takes incest as a criminal offense. A few exceptions are preset. I work as a journalist for a reputed news outlet. We get enough news from multiple sources, to know who are doing what. And, all the cases, Ive come to know, those were rape cases, except one where the sister got pregnant and brother got arrested. That stuff did seem consensual however, the girl denied it before cops.

@SW-User Because it is true. China is one of the rarest country that actually maintained a strong union among people, India never had that and pretty much that is why India suffered most too as foreign invaders always used Indians against Indians to conquer India.

@SW-User there's been efforts but then there are also people who don't really follow it so its a process in making and much as we would like to be on the better side, we are woefully far from where we ourselves would like to be
