Do you sympethise with captain hook?

Yeah honestly, I think Captain Hook is meant to be a better guy than Peter. The original message of the story was "you gotta grow up eventually", so Peter Pan wasn't made to be a shining example.

If I remember correctly from the books, Hook was originally a nobleman fencer who hated Peter and Peter alone. Hook was very proud of his own "Good Form" and hated how childish and cocky Peter was, how he didn't even try to have Good Form, but how he managed to rock at fencing either way.
Also, Peter cut off his hand and fed it to a crocodile.

He's also terrified of aging - hence why Peter Pan is his arch enemy (Peter being forever young) and why his biggest fear is the crocodile with the ticking clock.

I don't remember his story really. I think he may have been the good guy though since Peter Pan kidnapped children and stole their futures.
