I think it’s bs that our Brain sees these likes and shapes and decides there’s some meaning behind it and everyone knows the meaning. English is bulll

My 8 year old seems to think similarly. He wasn't very interested in learning to read a couple of years ago so I explained that it's a code to write down spoken words and if he didn't learn the code then he wouldn't be able to understand what people were saying.

He also would like to know why 1 isn't 3 or 2 isn't 7. Why are numbers? - So if you have any help with that it'd be much appreciated lol
