How do you deal with people who constantly criticize you?

I'm currently dealing with this, too. I know it's difficult when you are trying to become the person you want to be and people are currently telling you that "you should work on this," or "look like her..."blah blah blah. But people that critique you so harshly are only mirroring their own insecurities onto you. We REALLY need to stop this. It doesn't cost anything or take too much time out of your day to tell someone that they are doing really well.

I tell them to mind their own damn business. No one is perfect and those who think so are out of touch with reality. Watching kitten videos on youtube is more important than someone's empty criticisms.
