Are you a good employee?

I’ve gotten two promotions in less than a year and increased my wages by over 60%.

I’m pretty confident that I’m a kickass employee.

@ProdigalSummer Cool for you, and the people dealing with you, also!
@Sharky86 dealing with me? Lol. That sounds like I’m an ordeal.
Sharky86 · 36-40, M
@ProdigalSummer LOL yeah sorry I meant working with you and also the customer or whatever 😆
It wasn't an offence ooooppppsssss... Kinda the opposite.

I always use the word "deal" in these cases, you mean I'm doing a mess? 😱 OMG poor me.

I was a terrible employee. I felt if someone was paying me the least they could possibly pay me then it was my duty, as an American, to do the least I possibly could. The two businesses I worked for, each for 12 years, went down the tubes....
Sharky86 · 36-40, M
@hunkalove Yeah I understand what you mean. I'm the opposite, I was the opposite actually, when I was younger.

My first real employer started putting responsibilities over my shoulders just cause I were reliable, I was running for them, doing a lot of extra-hours etc. But I was young so maybe it's ok to understand things and make some experience, even if you do 10 and they pay you 1.
Then it happened the same again, while doing other jobs.
I started realizing something one day, when a colleague went explicit saying something about my 'superior' pay.
It was like: "Sharky I cannot afford that thing but you can, cause you have all of this responsibilities, you're telling us what to do and if there's a problem you always help, so your pay is better than us." I mean she always thought I was her superior, and I wasn't.

Oh, and this thing it's nice sometimes, cause my previous employer always look for me when they know I'm changing/leaving job.

What I do today, is almost like what you do. I mean I can't do "the less" cause it's not something ok with my personality, but at least if they ask me to stay 1 or 2 hours after my shift is done, they will pay for that extras, and they will pay it as extras. Also I'm not taking work problems to home. When I put my feet outside the office, I'm done with office shit.

I'm not an employee right now, but yeah, my work ethic is like "best employee of the month".

Not really.

But.

I can be reliable.

And trustworthy.
