Today I saw someone chew when he took his pills and I've never been this disturbed in my life.

He didn't have water, like just popped them in his mouth and chewed. Wtf
It was nurofen btw (headache tablets for those non-Australians wondering)

Chewing them is not goid. Some medications are designed to dissolve and administer the correct dosage. Not to mention it would taste horrible.
